Waste bins in Rinkeby-Kista
Below Kistahöjden there are several parks and activity areas with a large flow of people. The amount of waste generated in the area is highly seasonal and weather dependent, and it is complicated to get a handle on how to ensure that waste bins are emptied at the right time. With Bintel's solution, 85% fewer empties were made.
The train has left for a sustainable future - have you bought your ticket?
Although the Earth's rotational speed is slowing down, everything around us seems to be spinning faster and faster. We are experiencing exponential growth in everything from population size and its waste generation, to the accumulated amounts of data around us. The strain on the planet is unsustainable and we are facing a period of action and change.
In the midst of this turbulence is the waste industry.
How does the waste tariff affect sorting?
Thank you for the interesting discussions at the second SUB100 digital meeting of the year, where we let two completely different topics come together in an interesting new alloy: tax assessment and digitalisation.
News: digital investment in Recycling room
In a collaboration between Mölndalsbostäder, Bintel and the City of Mölndal, waste levels will be measured in around 20 Recycling room homes. The pilot project will run for two years and the aim is to develop a best practice for waste management in Recycling room.
Insights on waste collection and big data
Major data collection installations in the waste industry are often based on controlling the garbage truck and making this part of the operation more efficient. What the industry is now realising is that there are many other insights from data, which are sometimes even more exciting and have greater potential than the collection logistics themselves.
News: Good results after one month of more efficient waste collection
On 25 May, the "Smart bins" project has been running for a month and already the effect can be seen in a reduced number of emptying, thanks to the sensors that communicate when the bins are full.
What is your goal for Residual waste, and how will you achieve it?
All municipalities in Sweden probably have a concrete target to reduce the amount of Residual waste. This focus is encouraging, but more worrying is the uncertainty about how to achieve their goals. Höganäs municipality has set itself the tough target of reaching 100 kg Residual wasteper resident per year by 2024.
News: 1400 bins emptied demand-driven!
On 25 April, it is time to launch the pilot project "Smart waste bins", which is a collaboration between SSAM, the Green Tech company Bintel and Prezero within the framework of the Växjö municipality's innovation project Diaccess. It involves 238 property owners and 7,894 residents in the north of Växjö and aims to improve the efficiency of emptying, optimise the routes taken by refuse trucks and thus reduce the carbon footprint.

SUB100 - With data, towards increased sorting
Many of our industry colleagues have ambitious targets for increasing sorting and thereby reducing the CO2 impact on our planet.
